Tamera Mowry Can Relate to Mommy Brain

Mini winter cover mom Tamera Mowry-Housley opened up about every aspect of motherhood in our latest issue— from how she chose daughter Ariah’s name to sibling rivalry with her son Aden to her biggest struggle and even breastfeeding in public. But when we asked the Sister, Sister alum about the one thing no one really prepares you for with parenting, we couldn’t have agreed more.

I knew I would be tired, but I didn’t know about the mommy fog.

“Mommy brain. It stems from the exhaustion you get. I knew I would be tired, but I didn’t know about the mommy fog. I like to be in control of my thoughts, my mind, my day. When you’re in a mommy fog, you can’t do that. I call it ‘blissfully exhausted,’ because you’re so tired, but you’re also so happy. [But] I have two beautiful, healthy children I’m grateful for and I’ve learned to work through it.”
