Go Inside a Whimsical and Earthy Twin Nursery

Designing a nursery for twins, a boy and a girl, was a bit tricker than photographer and blogger Michele Phillips of What Dreams May Become thought it would be. But it was her children’s names—Meadow and Cove—that inspired the overall vibe of the calm, earthy space.

“We had their names picked out before I was even pregnant and I knew I wanted [the nursery] to represent them,” Phillips told Mini. “My first purchase was fabric, which was actually in a Meadow series, so that was an easy choice and definitely set my color palette for the space.”

“I decided to add some feminine touches— like the glitter curtains and floral garland—because if you can get away with it, why not?” Phillips says.

“I then added some earthy, masculine components as well— like the tree stump and yarn weaving.”

“The poem is actually from the Hunger Games book and I couldn’t love the words more,” says Phillips.

“My favorite pieces are the tree stump with their names and birthdate carved into it, as well as the custom wall quote.”

“The nursery ended up taking a little longer than I expected, only because before I knew it the twins were here and life got a little, ahem, busy,” the mother of five says. “But I’m so happy to have it finally complete and enjoy the time spent in it.”
